The tent corner fastens with Velcro. The awning sides fasten with straps. They don’t play well together. Having one end of the awning side attach with Velcro as a layer in-between the tent corner Velcro would make the seem so much better.

I think I returned this. I was going to use it as an over head roof to walk to the tent from our door. But couldn’t figure out how to attach to both. Canvas is naturally water proof. Just follow directions. 6 years of harsh winter and still love it!! We take our tent down for spring- fall. Covers our hot tub and lawn furniture!
