    Description

    Our tents are already “waterproof.” We put the word in quotes because materials rarely stay waterproof forever. For this reason, a tent fly is not required, but many of our customers still choose a tent fly to protect their investment.  If you are setting your tent up for any length of time, a fly is highly recommended to help protect the tent from UV rays.

    • Over hangs the side walls of the tent by about 2 feet.

      The tents rock but the flies are terrible they rip all the way across very easily. Better off using a harbor freight tarp.

      The tent fly has been incredible. Could not recommend enough. We have had it up in several torrential downpours and there have been zero leaks. But probably the bigger reason, it keeps the tent way cooler during the summer.

      The rain fly held together when it was nice weather. It keep the rain and even snow at bay. However, it didn’t last long in the sun and a microburst was able to tear it in 1/2. If you are using the fly only occasionally for camping, it’s a great item.
      If you are looking to use the tent long term (like we did) and use the fly year round, expect to have to replace it at least yearly.

      Fly is a must for speak protection. I’d rather have a burn hole in it than the tent.

      Great customer service,fast shipping also! When I set up the tent the first time I color coded all the poles and brackets with different color electrical tape. And a color coded the diagram that came with the tent with different color sharpies, then laminated it.Tent is very well built and have used it on 4 elk hunting trips. The only thing I would do different, if I ordered a new one is get one with the porch extension.

      A couple of the grommets stretched out pretty bad from the wind and I will have to replace them. Otherwise, no issues.

      The hole around the stove pipe cutout is oversized and allows for too much snow/rain to get in at that location. Other than that it’s a well made rain fly and holds up well to the wind/water.

      The rain fly does serve its purpose. However, in an extreme wind like I did experience, there should be a breakaway for the stove pipe where the fly breaks away.
      Otherwise I’m very happy with the rain fly.

      Best tent on the market. I bought the 13×20 with no awning figured id use some old framing and this one worked awesome as a fly for storing the firewood under.

      snow slides off it without accumulating enough to endanger the frame and it extends the “eaves” far enough to stack firewood under or put your coolers in the shade during hot weather.

      Very nice to have in the rain and snow. The snow slides off very easily. This makes for packing up much easier.

      The rain fly was very easy to install but was too lightweight to do much of anything to keep the water and light out. The ties on the fly were very flimsy and did not hold up during windy days, which are very common in the Midcoast region of Maine.

      This is a functional accessory that protects the most expensive thing – the canvas tent. More of a precaution than anything else, it does make the tent a lot darker on the inside.

      Has proven durable, easy to clean, must watch carefully for sparks when using stove, will burn holes in canvas easily.

      Handy protection to keep the UV off, heat in, and rain away from sidewalls. Need to take a little care with this – I tore one grommet on first trip by cinching it down too tight. Now use bungees and cord to get proper tension.
