It’s heavy duty. Gets hot, holds plenty of wood, and hold heat well.

Overall the stove worked well. Before the hunt I predrilled the flu pipe and used self tapping screws to hold the entire pipe assembly together. Even with the screws we came back from our evening hunt and the flu pipe tipped over on to the tent. Thankfully the pipe was cold and no damaged occurred . I have now rigged up support cables to hold it in place better.

Works well to keep warm during the cold nights and to cook food

    Great Stove

  8. Timothy Friday (verified owner)

Totally worth it if you want to stay warm! It’s east to set up and take down, and everything stores inside the stove when disassembled.

This stove is fine. The door doesn’t close tight so draft regulation is challenging. But it’s rugged. This is one thing I may replace down the road.

You can cook on it and it keeps the tent extremely comfortable for hours before needing stoked.

This is the only stove that I’ve operated in my Yukon bell tent. I find the stove to be more than adequate and useful for heat and cooking. I utilize the stove in northern Alberta in the months of November and December. With the proper gear, I let the fire burn out when I go to sleep and rekindle in the morning. This stove has no problem warming a 16’ tent. The flat surface works great for cooking and the racks for warming. Breakdown, consolidating, and packing of the legs, pipe, and racks, is simple and effective. I have no desire to change to a different setup.

works awesome, lasts 3-4 hours with softwoods, about 5 with hardwood, I did have to add a fiberglass gasket to the door and bend the “L” brackets holding the slide damper and door latch a little to tighten up the clearances and reduce airflow. As it comes, you can’t shut the airflow down far enough to keep it from running you OUT of the tent or having to open the ridge vents when you load it up full of wood at bedtime.
Bring a couple of iron skillets to camp, the stove top makes a wonderful cooking surface.
DON’T leave your Kenetrek insoles on the rack after stoking it full….ask me how I know.

Works well for the tent. We used it for 4 or 5 years and it still is functional.

I’ve had this stove for many years now and it’s still awesome!

The stove was fine to use in late summer/early fall to take the bite out and dry the inside of the tent but it is made of very lightweight materials so it can be packed out, which means it doesn’t hold heat long nor can it handle much of a fire without warping the door hinges and bottom grate inside the stove. If a fire gets too hot in the stove there is little you can do to reduce fresh air from getting into the stove. A smaller but more heavy duty stove would be a better option if you are planning to use it in cold weather. And the galvanized pipe took forever to burn off.

Good little stove that all condenses down and parts fit inside to travel with.

I would prefer a box type stove i think would hold more wood for the night.

  35. Jeff B. (verified owner)

Heats up quick and lasted way longer than I thought

stove works good. Be careful though of sparks, even when using screen over piping. I created a extra “fly”, for a lack of better words that cover the area around the vent stack to protect canvas.

  38. Rod Eisenmenger (verified owner)

We have had problems with the zipper on the tent popping open

  39. Douglas H. (verified owner)

Love this stove, and it comes with its own box!

Playing board games in shorts and a t-shirt in Mn winters while camping in my 13’x16′ is a treat.
